Surf Rider

Surf Rider is an original composition by Nokie Edwards.

It was featured in the movie Pulp Fiction.

To this day it is still considered a “surf anthem”.

The Ventures have never considered themselves a purely 'surf' group. They enjoy playing many styles of music and always have. Their influence on 'surf music', however, is undeniable. This album, while not the first music industry surfing oriented album, may well have been the most influential, because of The Ventures huge worldwide popularity and the exposure the album received. In the United States, it peaked at #30 and rode the Billboard album chart for seven months. Numerous sources consider Surfing an 'essential' Ventures album.

It is noteworthy that nine of the twelve cuts in this package are Ventures originals. One of those cuts, The Ninth Wave, became a major international hit in countries like Australia and South Africa that had surf-crazy coastal markets.
